Product Performance (Reliability)

The Hamilton Sundstrand Product Performance Team (PPT) tracks the in-service reliability performance for many of our products using the OnTrackā„¢ reliability database. Production, removal, and overhaul and repair records are collected from Hamilton Sundstrand sites world wide and participating operators. This information allows Hamilton Sundstrand to provide the following reports on and trend reliability data:

  • Mean Time Between Removals - MTBR
  • Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removals - MTBUR
  • Mean Time Between Failure (JustifiedĀ Removal) - MTBF (J)
  • Mean Time Between Failure Non-Induced - MTBF (N)
  • Paretos of removal reasons
  • Paretos of primary and secondary findings
  • Primary findings trend rates
  • Rogue unit or aircraft reports
  • Piece part usage
  • Unit history

Fleet level data reports are published quarterly or at six-month intervals, depending on the product and are available from your local Field Service Representative or a member of the PPT. Updated individual participating operator reports are typically available on a monthly basis. Participating operators can receive the above reports on a "operator vs. fleet" level, which compare their operational performance against the tracked fleet.

Participation at the operator level involves providing Hamilton Sundstrand with a monthly transmittal of removal data for Hamilton Sundstrand products. Operators interested in participating can contact their Hamilton Sundstrand Field Service Representative or a member of the PPT.
